Habitat Quilt Challenge

I was debating whether to show you my finished quilt first or this amazing one I found on line. This was a national challenge, but each guild devised it's on rules and decided how much additional fabric could be used. Dan obviously received more than the six fat eights we got. Even so I would not have created anything as incredible as this.

This fabulous response to the challenge is by Dan R. of Piece and Press. Stop by Dan's blog and check out his stencil series.

I'll post my finished piece later in the week. It will be much, much smaller.

Saturday

Give a cat a quilt

I love this quilt because:
  1. I finished it. Therefore it's my favorite.
  2. Cecil (the cat) loves it and covers up the jacked up back side.
  3. It allows me to remove the ugly green blanket that previously protected this ottoman from cat hair.
  4. Did I mention I finished it.

Friday

Habitat quilt challenge

I am giddy. Dorkily giddy about my first quiliting challenge. Two of my friends are participating in the challenge too. I can't wait to see how very different our products are. We have very distinct styles, but the exact same fabrics. Cool. This is the fabric we are using.
Right now I am thinking a giant quilted floor pillow with doodle like appliques a la Pam Garrison. But all Marley. Exciting.
