Bike through the Barrio

On Sunday, LSA and American Institute of Architects joined forces for the 1st annual Architectural Bike Tour.

I got a flat tire early on and had to ride back to the beginning. One of the guys from the tour followed me back to make sure everything was fine. Once my tires were full, he led me on a crazy, probably illegal bike ride through sidewalks and courtyards in downtown Tucson and left me here. El Tiradito shrine.

Local architect and LSA board member, Corky Poster was out tour guide. He described in detail the architectural styles that developed when Tucson was cattle land, how things changed with the railroad and the war. By the end we were able to identify the impact of Chicago on our fair town. It was a great time.
